If travelling north to Largs, come via Kilmarnock before heading up the coast road (A78 northbound).
 

If travelling south to Largs, come via Greenock on the A78 southbound. 
This is a slow but scenic coastal route.
Alternatively,
Take via the M8 (signposted Irvine) then join the A737 (signposted Irvine) and turn onto the A760 (signposted Largs). This is a quicker route.
 

Trains from Glasgow central station to Largs station take almost exactly one hour.
 

Buses run directly from Glasgow's Buchanan Street bus station to Largs.
